The solvents business produces and markets a broad range of solvents, including butanol, methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, iso-propanol, alcohol blends, ketones, esters, acetic acid, propionic acid, glycol ehters, fine chemicals, co-monomers, including 1-hexene and 1-octene, Safol and mining chemicals.
Our production facilities in Germany (Herne and Moers) and South Africa (Germiston, Sasolburg, Sasolburg Midlands and Secunda) have a combined capacity of over 2 million tons a year.
A sales and distribution network is in place worldwide, split into six regions: Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and North America.
Sales personnel are able to access advanced business management systems as well as technical and R&D resource in various Sasol centres around the world. The use of bulk supply facilities situated in China, Dubai, Singapore, South Africa and the United States allows for timely delivery to approximately 110 countries.
The solvents business serves industries that include aerosol, agricultural chemicals, cosmetic, fragrance, mining chemicals, packaging, paint and adhesive, pharmaceutical, polish, printing and plastics.
